My Walkman iPhone Case

My Sony Walkman style iPhone Case

**UPDATED** I have a hard time making decisions at the best of times, so when it came to ordering one of my quirky iPhone cases for myself, it took me a while to figure out exactly which one to choose! Of course, given that I’ll be showing it off to as many people as I can, and wanted to take some promotional photographs of it, the pressure was on, but I think I made the right decision.

Some people might think it’s too early, but when it comes to Christmas I reckon you can never be too prepared! Not only have I just added a new Apple T-shirts page to this blog (you saw it in the menu bar above, right?), but I’ve also created some new Apple-inspired slogan T-shirts that I think would make the perfect gift. FCPX: Join the revolution

There can be no doubt that the launch of Final Cut Pro X has rattled a few cages, and there seems to be a lot of negativity surrounding it. Yes, there are some missing features, and the completely new user interface may well throw a few people – at least until they realise that all the tools they’re used to using are still there – but the application has been built from the ground up to be faster, more powerful and with cutting edge features and a new way of working that looks set to revolutionise editing as we know it! Bah, humbug!

Sometimes we forget the true meaning of Christmas. Turn on the television, and it’s impossible to escape the barrage of advertisements for the latest re-gurgitation of previously released material on DVD, over-priced exotic smelly water, celebrity biographies and cookbooks, gadgets, gizmos, games and garments. Let’s not forget food and drink either, and the somewhat ominous re-running of adverts that I’m sure I remember seeing years ago – budgets tight this year perhaps? And don’t even get me started on toys – a toy dog that actually urinates? Please (and I mean “no thanks”). Continue reading Bah, humbug!

Pre-release press release plea…

When Apple finally took the wraps off their long-awaited tablet back in January, his Steve-ness told us it would be available in 60-90 days. Then, just last weekend, Panasonic revealed their latest G-series cameras, announcing that they won’t be available to buy until June….. I just don’t get it. What’s wrong with “…and you can buy one, today!” – seems logical enough to me. It’s bad enough waiting for next day delivery once you’ve performed the “one-click” online shopping ritual…. having to wait 3 months? That’s just plain unfair.

Poisoned Apples

Mirror, mirror, on the wall – who should have waited until the fall?

Well, me of course (and over here it’s “Autumn” by the way – but that doesn’t rhyme with “wall” now does it?).

Naturally, I am referring to the fact that at the beginning of the year, I upgraded my iMac. I had needed a new machine for some time, and had decided to wait until after Apple’s traditional January announcements, fully expecting an upgrade to the slick all-in-one that would include quad-core processors and LED displays. When that didn’t happen, I had to bite the bullet and went for a top-of-the-line 24″-er with 4Gb RAM and a massive hard drive.
